GUATEMALA CITY

ANTIGUA GUATEMALA

A colonial city located 45 kilometers south west of Guatemala City, founded by the Spanish in 1541. Its Renaissance, Mannerist and Baroque architecture makes visiting it a journey through time. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979.
PACAYA VOLCANO

Live the thrill of walking on an active volcano, located just 60 kilometers south of Guatemala City. Due to its eruptive form, it belongs to the Strombolian classification. From its 2,500 meters above sea level, you can see the Pacific coast, Guatemala City and the volcanoes that make up the Volcanic Mountain Range of Guatemala.

Quiché Mayan Town located 145 kilometers northwest of Guatemala City. In this place, in 1701, the Dominican Francisco Ximenez translated the Popol Vuh, a document that today helps students of Mayan culture understand their past and present. The most transcendental thing about this town is its oral tradition that tells of the creation of the world.
LAKE ATITLAN

SWEET RIVER

A river whose waters flow into the Atlantic Sea from the largest lake in Guatemala, Lake Izabal, with 588 square kilometers. It served in colonial times as an entrance to reach inland to the capital of the Captaincy General of Guatemala, “Antigua Guatemala”. A place to enjoy a totally Caribbean atmosphere.
TIKAL

It was the capital of the classic Mayan world, with more than 1,500 years of history, 3,000 constructions carried out by its 33 rulers. The first city state in the Mayan world that maintained unprecedented political, economic and social control over its neighbors. First site declared worldwide as Natural and Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1980.
SEMUC CHAMPEY

Natural monument located 293 kilometers north of Guatemala City. Turquoise pools in the middle of the nature of the tropical forest, whose meaning of the Mayan name Semuc Champey is “where the river hides under the stones.”
