The Spirit of the Journey
In the ancient Maya civilization, the jaguar was more than a powerful animal — it was a sacred guardian, a bridge between worlds, and a symbol of wisdom, strength, and transformation. This journey follows its path across Guatemala, weaving together ancient cities, rivers, jungles, and living cultures in an experience designed to feel immersive, meaningful, and timeless.
The Great Jaguar Tour is not simply a route across destinations. It is a carefully curated passage through landscapes shaped by history, nature, and mythology — a journey that unfolds with intention, depth, and quiet elegance.
This symbol represents B‘alam, the sacred jaguar of the Maya — guardian of the night, a bridge between worlds, and a symbol of power, wisdom, and transformation.
The Journey Through the Mayan World
The Living Kingdom
Copán · Quiriguá
The journey begins in the ancestral heart of the Mayan world. From Guatemala, visitors travel to Copán, Honduras, one of the most refined cities of the Classic Period, where carved stelae, ceremonial plazas, and intricate hieroglyphs reveal the intellectual and artistic mastery of its civilization. Accompanied by a private guide, they explore the ruins at a leisurely pace, immersing themselves in their history, before enjoying a horseback ride through the landscapes surrounding this exceptional site.
From Copán, the route continues to Quiriguá, home to some of the tallest stone monuments ever created by the Maya civilization — monumental expressions of power, astronomy, and sacred time. These two cities, linked in the Mayan past, are considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The Passage
Río Dulce · Livingston · White Beach
As the journey flows eastward, the landscape transforms. Rivers replace stone, and the rhythm of water guides the experience. Guests travel through Río Dulce by private boat, navigating lush tropical scenery and remote waterways. A stop at White Beach offers a moment of stillness — soft light, warm sand, and the calm presence of the Caribbean Sea. The journey continues to Livingston, where Afro-Caribbean culture, color, and coastal traditions offer a striking contrast to the highland and jungle regions.
This portion of the journey highlights Guatemala’s cultural diversity, where nature and human expression meet along the water’s edge.
The Sacred Depths
Tikal · Flores
The final chapter leads deep into the jungle, where the ancient city of Tikal rises from the forest floor. Once the political and ceremonial heart of the Maya world, Tikal stands as one of the most significant archaeological sites of the Classical Period and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for both its cultural and natural importance.
Accompanied by a private bilingual guide, guests explore towering temples, ceremonial plazas, and hidden pathways, immersed in the sounds and atmosphere of the surrounding jungle. The experience offers insight into Mayan cosmology, daily life, and architectural mastery, bringing the ancient city vividly to life. The journey concludes with an overnight stay in Flores, a tranquil island town on Lake Petén Itzá, offering space for reflection before returning to Guatemala City.
